Calf Management - Minimum Standards

There are 4 Minimum Standards from the Dairy Cattle Code of Welfare that outline requirements for calf management.

Newborn and young calves are especially vulnerable to adverse environmental conditions and poor management.  Young calves separated from their mothers must be provided with housing and bedding material that ensures they can stay warm and dry.

All calves, regardless of their intended destination require good care and attention to ensure well-being, health and survival.
